A reel that hits two million views isn't luck. It's structure. When we break down the ones that fly, the same three-part skeleton shows up nearly every time: hook, hold, payoff.
The hook (0 to 2 seconds)
One clear promise or one impossible-to-ignore visual. The viewer decides to stay or scroll almost instantly, so the opening has exactly one job: make leaving feel like missing out.
The hold (the middle)
This is where most reels die. The middle has to keep paying off little by little, with pacing, motion, and just enough tension to carry someone to the end. Cuts that leave a tiny bit of breathing room feel human, not frantic.
The payoff (the end)
Give them a reason it was worth it: a resolution, a laugh, a lesson, or a reason to follow. Nail all three and the algorithm does the rest for free.
